The Jacksons 50th anniversary & Chase & Status to play Newmarket Nights

The Jockey Club Live are excited to announce the next two artists to join the Newmarket Nights season – Mowtown legends THE JACKSONS on 30th June, and electronic duo CHASE & STATUS on 11th August 2017.

The Jacksons, originally formed as The Jackson 5, will be visiting Newmarket as they celebrate an incredible 50 hit-making years. Known for hits including ‘ABC’, ‘The Love You Save’, ‘I Want You Back’ and ‘I’ll Be There’, the group sold more than 200 million records during their time with the legendary Motown label. Building a reputation for their combination of music and brilliant choreography, they went on to score 17 Top 40 singles on the Hot 100 – together with 22 UK Top 40 singles – including Never Can Say Goodbye, Show You The Way To Go and Dancing Machine.

Tito Jackson said:
‘We had the privilege of performing for Her Majesty The Queen when we first came to the UK in 1972 and we’re always excited to return. The British audiences love their music and we can’t wait to share ours with them when we bring our show to Newmarket Racecourse this summer!’

Carrying on from the success of last year’s DJ night, which saw an explosive headline set from Mark Ronson, Chase & Status will be bringing their unique brand of Drum N Bass to Newmarket Racecourse on August 11th. Having sold over 3.5million records, some of their biggest hits include ‘Blind Faith’, ‘Count On Me’ and ‘End Credits’. With an unrivalled acclaimed live show, the duo have toured and performed at arenas and festivals across the globe including headlining festival stages at Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Global Gathering.

The 2016 season welcomed acts including Little Mix, Tears For Fears, Mark Ronson and the Kaiser Chiefs to the Adnams July Course, collectively playing to over 100,000 fans.

Amy Starkey, Regional Director East of Jockey Club Racecourses, said

'We can't wait to welcome both Chase & Status and The Jacksons to Newmarket Nights for the first time this summer. With The Jacksons' celebrating their 50th anniversary year, we're delighted to be sharing their celebrations with them and am sure they'll be performing a set to remember, packed full of some of their biggest hits. Chase & Status are one of the UK’s most exciting live acts, and I'm really looking forward to the festival atmosphere they'll bring to the July course.'
