Theatre set for would-be surgeons

Have you ever wondered what it is like to work in an operating theatre, assisting world-class surgeons with cutting-edge surgical techniques?

Cambridge University Hospitals is swinging open its operating theatres doors to give a fascinating peek behind the scenes on Saturday 28 October.

Primarily a recruitment event, there are three tours of the theatres, commencing  at 9am, 11am and 1pm where there will be a host of interactive activities to see if working under the operating lights is something for you.

You will get to scrub up, have a go at repairing a mock facial trauma and practice intubating a patient and much more.

The Trust is particularly interested in Theatre Practitioners, both scrub and anaesthetics, and Theatre Support Workers to join its friendly team

Registration will take place half an hour before each tour.

To attend guests must be 18 or over and register what time they would like to attend by 26 October. Email emma.northfield@addenbrookes.nhs.uk
