Latest public Board meeting for ambulance service

The wellbeing and mental health of the region’s ambulance staff and volunteers will be the focus of its latest public Board meeting.

With the launch of the health and wellbeing hub at the meeting on Wednesday, and the anniversary of the MIND Blue Light pledge, bosses at the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) will reinforce its strategy to improve the support for people in the organisation.

Held at the Trust’s HQ in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire, the meeting will also cover the new ambulance sustainability review and formation of Midlands and East Programme Board which is looking at how three neighbouring ambulance services can improve working practices together.

The normal monthly reports will also be covered, including finance, clinical quality, patient experience and performance. There have been clinical improvements on cardiac arrest outcomes, and the meeting will hear that for the most seriously ill patients cared for in April, 73.79% were attended within eight minutes just shy of the 75% target.

Trust Chair Sarah Boulton said: “Our focus on physical and mental health and wellbeing over the last year has been phenomenal – we have more than 160 trauma risk management practitioners, reviewed the efficiency of our occupational health services, undertaken a culture and health audit, seen a massive uptake of the flu jab, and our chaplaincy services have really evolved. It can all have such a fantastic impact on how people lead their professional and personal lives and I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved in bringing these programmes to fruition.”

The Board meeting will start at 1.30pm, and Twitter users can follow #EEASTBoard during the meeting.
