A magician who recently wowed the country with a comic routine on Britain’s Got Talent took time out from rehearsing for his live semi-final to visit East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) in Milton.
Matt Edwards, from Stowmarket, whose audition for ITV’s hit entertainment show led to presenters Ant and Dec pressing their golden buzzer, spent time meeting 29 of the children, young people and family members supported by EACH.
It was smiles and laughs all round as the entertainer, dubbed “the Lee Evans of magic” by Ant, brought his bounds of energy and enthusiasm.
Among those lucky enough to meet Matt was six-year-old William Carlson and his mum Helen, from St Ives.
Helen said: “We had a brilliant time. It's the most I’ve laughed in ages and it was very much needed! A big thank you to Matt.”
Josie Dwyer, EACH Service Manager, said: “It was an absolute delight to have Matt visit us. He took the time to meet, greet and talk to everyone at the hospice. We wish him the very best of luck on Britain’s Got Talent.”
