Community Netball Club Awarded Lottery Funding For Fun And Fitness In The Fens

Fenatics netball club from East Cambridgeshire is delighted to have received Lottery funding to re-launch and develop the club and is looking for new members to join in the fun and fitness.

The group is made up of ladies from around the Ely area who love playing netball and our ethos is all about fun, getting fit and making friends. The club is relatively new and is made up of a mixed age group from sixteen to forty-somethings and our netball experience varies from people who have played regularly to those who have not played since school or ever.

The club is using the Lottery Grant to pay for a netball coach, training fees, kit and equipment as well as some fitness sessions with local health professionals who will complement the netball training with other fitness and healthy eating advice. With only *29.7% of people in the East Cambs area managing 30 minutes of exercise a week, this is a great opportunity to get involved in some exercise within a safe and friendly environment.

Club Secretary, Charlotte Murfitt said:
“Fenatics netball club is all about getting fit and having fun at the same time. Everyone is welcome no matter what age or netball experience and ability. There is an opportunity to play matches or just attend training sessions with no pressure to compete. We just enjoy playing netball with a nice group of ladies that occasionally like a night out together as well!”

Fenatics train every Thursday in school term-time at the Little Thetford courts (next to the social club) 7.45pm – 8.45pm.
