Celebrate British summertime with a quintessentially English garden party on the Varsity hotel rooftop

Cambridge luxury boutique hotel hosts skyline soiree.

On Sunday 18th June, The Varsity Hotel & Spa in Cambridge is celebrating the British summer with a quintessentially English Garden Party, but six floors up on the hotel’s breath-taking rooftop terrace.

Those attending the skyline soiree will enjoy a unique al fresco dining experience. Guests can feast on the contents of a specially curated picnic hamper or order from a menu of traditional summertime tipples all whilst enjoying live music from a local classical guitarist and the beautiful panorama of the city.

Located in the centre of Cambridge, the hotel’s iconic rooftop garden provides the perfect spot for guests to take in the spectacular views of the historic city and its beautiful architecture. St John’s College spires, the lush green of Midsummer Common and the sight of punts gliding down the picturesque River Cam, provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy a traditional British summer party.

The Afternoon Tea & Champagne Taittinger picnic hampers feature culinary summertime classics: a variety of finger sandwiches, including Cucumber & Smoked Salmon and Egg & Cress, Scones with Clotted Cream & Jam as well as a range of delicate Cakes. The hamper also contains two half bottles of Champagne Taittinger, the champagne partner of the Varsity Hotel & Spa.

Bartenders decked out in straw hats will be on hand to serve a range of English Garden cocktails, including Strawberry Bellinis, as well as classics like Champagne Taittinger Brut Resérve NV and Prestige Rosé NV with strawberries, jugs of Pimms and fresh fruit teas.

Welcoming both hotel guests and locals, tickets for the rooftop English garden party is available to book for the 18th June from 5.00pm – 7.00pm priced at £59 for a picnic hamper for two guests. Spots are limited, so get in quick to reserve your place.
