Police are appealing for information after an elderly woman had her handbag snatched.
The victim, who is in her 80s, was walking in Newmarket Road, Cambridge, towards Tesco in Cheddars Lane at around 11am on Saturday, May 13, when she was approached by a man on a bicycle who stole her handbag before making off.
The man, described as tall, in his late 30s and of a slim build, headed towards the Stevenson Court or Rowlinson Way area.
The handbag contained a small amount of cash.
Sergeant James Bowen said: “Although the victim was not hurt this was a frightening experience for her which left her shaken. It is also extremely troubling that the offender targeted an elderly victim.
“I would urge anyone with information or who may have seen something in the area at the time to contact us.”
