Police say the the person who attacked a woman at Paxton Pits is still out there.

Officers were called to Paxton Pits, near St Neots, at 7.30am on Thursday 29 June 2023.

Dogwalkers had discovered a woman, seriously injured and unconscious, in the nature reserve.

Nine months on, the victim, a woman in her 50s from Little Paxton, has spoken out for the first time.

She told the BBC programme Crimewatch she remained "very angry" about the attack.

Detective Inspector Verity McCann:

"The victim’s assailant has not been caught and we want to get justice for her and her family."

"We’re continuing to seek opportunities for new lines of enquiry and I am urging anyone who has information, but has not yet come forward, to do the right thing and get in touch."

"Any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, may be key to solving this terrible assault."

The victim’s watch and dog were also missing, although the dog was found unharmed a short distance away.

The watch was later handed into the Paxton Pits Visitor Centre at 2.30pm on Saturday 1 July 2023.

Officers are also appealing for the person who did this to get in contact as they could have vital information.
