The Melbourn Sports Centre has had to shut with immediate effect.
Staff there have said the decision was made with "shock and immense sadness" and told customers "it has been a privilege and pleasure to work with and teach you and your families".
The facility has served Melbourn and the surrounding area since 1991 and has been a valued and well supported part of the community for three decades.
The management company, Be Active Melbourn Ltd, has had to cease trading and will be going into liquidation shortly.
